During the 1800s, it was popular to speculate which clipper ship carrying tea from Asia would arrive first in London. The side of the Joseph Edward Tea Shoppe includes a sign announcing the race updates. Tetley is a well-known company, and this shop is named for the Tetley brothers, Joseph and Edward, who founded their company in the 1820s. 

Made from high-quality porcelain, its intricately detailed features are hand-painted by skilled artisans. The building is illuminated using a bulb and standard light cord.
